Grant Transit Authority (GTA) has marked a major milestone by providing public transportation services in Grant County for the past 25 years, and is already planning for the next 25 years.
GTA has focused on serving communities throughout the county with a goal of making transportation available to residents and visitors alike. This allows passengers to access employment, educational opportunities, medical appointments, shopping, recreation, and to connect with other modes of transportation such as Greyhound, Trailways, People For People, AMTRAK, and WSDOT’s Apple Line.
In conjunction with the 25th anniversary, GTA has embarked on a new project by slowly transitioning our fixed-route fleet from diesel to electric buses in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, while also providing a clean, quiet ride for our passengers. This project has been on the drawing board for some time, and we hope to have the new electric vehicles in service by June 1, 2022.
This battery electric bus project will be the first small purpose-built battery electric van to utilize on-route wireless inductive charging in public transportation today.
We hope you will join us on this exciting journey by giving Grant Transit Authority a chance to show you that public transportation is a viable option to get you where you want to go. Keep checking our website and Facebook page to see when the ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at GTA’s Multimodal Transportation Center in downtown Moses Lake.
